As the unusual basketball season of Kaunas "Žalgiris" gains momentum, fan support also continues. Although basketball games can currently only be watched at home, this does not prevent fans from dressing in green and white merchandise. From December 18, team fans have an excellent opportunity to purchase souvenirs in another way – through Žalgirisshop.lt vending machines, which can be found at Vytauto pr. 24 (Kaunas Bus Station) and K. Baršausko g. 66A (PC "MOLAS").

"These sales points were not chosen by chance. The bus station is an important gateway to Kaunas. A significant number of fans travel to games by bus from other cities, so with the new vending machine, merchandise will be easily accessible to them. While games are held without spectators, upon departure from the vending machine, one can grab souvenirs for loved ones, as "Žalgiris" is a team for all of Lithuania. And the "Molas" shopping center was chosen due to people's inquiries – we often received questions about whether we had a store here," says Justina Jesevičiūtė, commercial manager of the Žalgirisshop.lt store network.

In the first months, products selected by the Žalgirisshop.lt team will be tested in the vending machines, and later efforts will be made to consider seasonality and customer expectations and wishes. According to the commercial manager, these machines aim to increase the availability of merchandise: people do not want to wait in lines to save time. First, we will test this innovation in Kaunas, and later we will strive for the machines to appear in other Lithuanian cities."

"It is a pleasure to be able to cooperate with a team loved by the city and all of Lithuania and to be a place where fans or city guests can purchase team merchandise. Before the quarantine, when games could be watched at the "Žalgiris" Arena, we used to see fans traveling through Kaunas bus station towards the arena; from now on, these fans or city guests will be able to supplement their team support collection on their way to games, simply by stopping at the station," said Laima Pakusienė, head of Kaunas bus station, adding that fans can conveniently leave their cars in the bus station's underground parking lot.

Indrė Januševičiūtė, manager of the "Molas" shopping center, also welcomes this cooperation: "The changes dictated by the world have encouraged shopping centers to look for new, original solutions that allow customers to offer an even faster, more convenient, and safer shopping method. We are happy to offer the Žalgirisshop.lt vending machine for "Žalgiris" team merchandise to our visitors as well."

These are the first such vending machines in Lithuania. Considering the pandemic situation in the country, team fans are given another opportunity to purchase small merchandise contactlessly. Žalgirisshop.lt vending machines will offer various small souvenirs – bracelets, socks, face masks, scarves, pens, etc. The assortment will include more than 30 items.
